Medicine Admissions

    NUS & NTU Medicine

Medicine applications are not built in March. We help students plan their profile, clinical exposure, reflections, and application strategy early, then prepare for FSA, MMI, and UCAT when the time comes.

    NUS Yong Loo Lin

    ~280 places

    Selection Process

    FSA (Focused Skills Assessment)

    FSA Format

Multiple stations testing communication, teamwork, and ethical reasoning. Includes collaborative tasks and scenario discussions.

    Affiliations

    NUH, SGH, KKH

    NTU Lee Kong Chian

    ~170 places

    Selection Process

UCAT (for shortlisting) + MMI (Multiple Mini Interview)

    MMI Format

~7 timed stations. Each station presents a new scenario. Fast-paced, no time to overthink.

    Affiliations

    TTSH, CGH, KKH

Interview scenarios test maturity, ethics, and communication, not medical knowledge.

    Ethical Dilemma

"A 75-year-old patient with terminal cancer wants to use their Medisave for an experimental treatment overseas. Their family opposes this. How would you handle this as a doctor?"

Looking for: Recognition of patient autonomy vs. beneficence, understanding of Singapore's healthcare financing, ability to navigate family conflict.

    Collaboration Task (NUS FSA)

Applicants are paired and given Lego blocks. One must instruct the other to build a structure without touching the blocks.

Looking for: Communication clarity, patience, teamwork, frustration tolerance. These are qualities essential for working with patients and colleagues.

    Healthcare Policy Awareness

"With Healthier SG rolling out, how might the role of a General Practitioner evolve in the next 10 years?"

Looking for: Awareness of local policy (preventive care focus), critical thinking, understanding of the primary care landscape.

    How We Prepare Applicants

    Foundation

    Profile Advisory & Gap Mapping

We review your resume as an admissions file, not a formatting exercise. That means looking at clinical exposure, volunteering, leadership, academic interests, and reflection depth, then identifying what each entry actually proves. From there, we map the gaps: what to deepen, what to stop padding, and how to make the profile read as deliberate rather than assembled for applications.

    • Resume and activity audit
    • Clinical exposure gap mapping
    • Experience-to-insight coaching
    • Narrative positioning
    Foundation

    Personal Statement

Multiple drafts with detailed feedback. We help articulate why medicine, not just "I want to help people", but what specifically draws applicants to the profession and how their experiences have shaped that calling.

    • Authentic "Why Medicine" narrative
    • Establish coherence with portfolio
    • Reflection on clinical experiences
    • Clear, compelling storytelling
    Assessment Skills

    Interview Preparation

Mock sessions tailored to each school's format. Different interviews require different strategies. We prepare applicants specifically for what they'll face.

    NUS FSA

Collaboration tasks, scenario discussions, ethical reasoning

    NTU MMI

Timed station practice, rapid scenario response, pacing
